Terry Pratchett (1948-?)

I don't think I've ever been critical of the money Douglas Adams makes, especially since, as has been tactfully pointed out, I myself have had to change banks having filled the first one up.

Theatre of Cruelty - Theatre of Cruelty, a Discworld short story

Terry Pratchett is a British author who is best known for his Discworld series - humorous fantasy books based on a flat world shaped like a disc. He has however, also written several science fiction and young adult books.

A very prolific writer, Terry has managed to become Britain's best-selling living fiction author, with over 20 Discworld novels published alone. As he manages to release a new novel approximately every 6 months, it is not unknown for 2 or more of his books to be in the top 10 best-sellers list at the same time.

His works have managed to capture the hearts and the imaginations of the public to such an extent that there are a myriad of derivative works available. Maps, encyclopedias, stage plays, audio tapes, quiz books, clay and metal figures and games are just a few of the more obvious examples.

He was born in the village of Forty Green, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire on the 28th of April in 1948 and apparently is still not dead (he says he's not - and he should know). He currently lives near Salisbury in Wiltshire with his wife Lyn and daughter Rhianna.

Terry is not only interested in computers, he enjoys trying to make them do things they were never intended to do and is also on the 'net. He has recently started his own site (currently under construction) at www.turtlesalltheway.com if you want to take a look.
