Eric Bristow's First World Championship Victory DVD

Published by Retro Video

This DVD is available at budget price and understandably so as it clocks in at just 40 minutes in length (not 49 as advertised on the box!)

What it includes is the only known to exist footage from Eric Bristow's first Embassy World Championship win in 1980 against Bobby George. Unfortunately no known footage still exists of the first 6 sets, so this DVD follows on from the match interval with the game poised at 3 sets apiece.

What follows is an incredible piece of Darts history. Bobby George fights with everything he has as Bristow takes a stranglehold on the match. The atmosphere was electric and this is a real picture from a bygone era.

A soberly dressed crowd which is 98% male chanting "Bristow, Bobby George" continually. Bristow on stage with a pint and chain smoking and Jack Pryce the referee commenting to the crowd "Ladies and Gents please, we can hardly hear ourselves up here".

But even better is the top quality darts display on show. There was nothing between the two players that year. From the evidence on show Bristow just had that tiny edge of keeping his cool while finishing.

An absolute must see DVD  available from all the usual online retailers.
